Incarcerated Blunt Youth Radio Members from Long Creek Youth Development Center to Broadcast Live from WMPG Community Radio

Portland, ME– On Monday, April 22nd, from 7:30 to 8:30 PM, Incarcerated youth from the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland, Maine tell stories of life behind bars and host a live show on WMPG Community radio. The students will air feature pieces they have been producing as members of the Blunt Youth Radio Project. They will also take on-air calls from the community, and talk about their experiences as incarcerated youth.
Stories from this series air regularly on Blunt, a weekly youth public affairs program on WMPG, Portland, Maine’s community radio station. Blunt hosts bi-weekly radio instruction at South Portland’s Long Creek Youth Development Center (LCYDC). Student’s learn interviewing, hosting, reporting, engineering, and studio production.
Their award-winning, unfiltered stories provide an intimate look at the experiences of incarcerated teens.
